Totally safe. This only looks at whether certain files exist and what version of WhatsApp you have. It does not open, read, copy, or send any of your messages. It writes one small text report to your Desktop, nothing else.

Make sure WhatsApp is set up on this PC

You should have the WhatsApp app installed on this Windows PC (from the Microsoft Store) and be signed in to it.
If it's installed and you can see your chats in it, you're good.

Save the check file

Save the wa-precheck.ps1 file that was sent to you somewhere easy, your Downloads folder is fine.

Open PowerShell in that folder

Open the folder where you saved it in File Explorer.
Click the address bar at the top, type powershell, and press Enter. A blue window opens.

Run the check

Copy this line, paste it into the blue window (right-click pastes), press Enter:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\wa-precheck.ps1

It runs instantly and prints a short report.

Send back the report

It saves a file to your Desktop called wa-precheck-report.txt.
Send that file back (or just copy all the text from the blue window and paste it in a message).
